Emancipation (Redemption Song)

 

  June 7, 2020, was the most restless night I ever had. Covid's death toll and civil unrest caused my head to spin and my heart to palpitate. Taking deep breaths didn't help. Doing jumping jacks didn't help either. The only option left was prayer. I would kneel and release all my fears and worries to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Closing my prayer with an Amen, my writing bug came back, and I went on to write one of my most beloved pages (Proclamation).     

  I have had many shifts since the age of twenty-five. From eighteen to twenty-five I was a registered Independent. The narrative that democrats are heroes and republicans are villains has never resonated with me. Progressives are being used as pawns of the chessboard called politics. I would also add that progressives are a small percentage in U.S. Politics. To be honest, I don't see politics being useful or effective in the next teen to fifteen years. Paramilitary organization such as Antifa, Proud Boys, and The Oath Keepers have infiltrated the political and military sectors. We are living in the last days and must keep our eyes on God's kingdom.    

  Growing as a person and forgiving myself of pass mistakes is something I struggle with. For certain I know that I am renewed daily through my faith in Christ. Some parts of my past life have made me into who I am today. I find it hard at times to look back at the things I have done with a straight face. In the middle of reminiscing about my past life I think of how a butterfly has to start off as a caterpillar. Before one grows, he or she must make mistakes, fight life's battles, learn from lessons, and continue to learn.      

  Staying true to myself is a struggle. It's like I am fighting two battles at once. On one front I am fighting against the culture and its standards for what a man should be or shouldn't be. On the other front I am fighting social media and what is real versus what is fake. The war of the mind is a real thing. Every time I pray, I ask God for strength not just for me but for the world.     

  Emancipation comes from God. Freedom comes from God. Sovereignty comes from God. Love comes from God. Strength comes from God. Talents come from God. Gifts come from God. Wherever you are in life put your faith in God and the heights you will reach will be limitless.
