May 2024 makes six years since I published my first blog series. Looking back at all that I have accomplished is unbelievable. Believe it or not, I always knew I would be here writing to you about my accolades. By no means am I saying that I am satisfied. Eagerly I am in search for new ventures and artforms to add to my disposal. Lots of things have changed in six years, but the message has remained the same. My work's message to readers is to be proud of who they are and to never be ashamed to use their lives as inspiration.
Ups would come the very moment I started blogging. Concepts such as losing my religion and the police state are what readers cherished most. Coming into the game with no college degree or money I was determined to make something of my existence in this world. Week after week I was a trailblazer, publishing and posting pages from three different blog series at the same time. This time in my life was dark and with my writing a lamp was cast at my feet. I look back at that time in my life and smile.
Downs have hit me harder than bricks. When the creative process of the writer conflicts with the perception of the reader the result will be missed marks. Whatever the writer creates is up to him or her. Whether the reader receives it well will be to each his or her own. Forcing an opinion or a perspective on an issue has never been my goal. To express myself aimlessly is what brings me joy.
The life that I live has taught me a lot. Lessons learned are a handful. But I will share with you three important lessons I have learned. Lesson #1 is that just because a person is family, or kin doesn't mean that they will support you. Lesson # 2 is to always remember those who support you and your brand. Lesson # 3 is to always find new ideas and themes to work on.
Current inspirations are being consistent, having more optimism, and using my imagination. I will always love my work. But I will expose myself to different things so I can grow in my craft. Seeking new forms of expression has been a requirement since the first time I took a pen and made it write words within the white spaces on a piece of paper. Twenty-nine years on this earth and I am not ashamed of being a student. Excellence and execution are two of the reasons I am where I am today. I have excelled as a writer and as a person, but I will never forget how far I have come.
One of my favorite past times is to sit in silence. Silence brings peace. Silence reveals who is who. Silence helps one to be aware of their surroundings. Silence eases torment. In silence there is solace.
